I Have Seen the Wind
Who has seen the wind she said?
Her assumptions of the naught
Leaves will tremble, trees will bow
When the wind is in distraught
She said that passing through or by
The wind, we cannot see
She said that neither you or I
Have seen the wind to be
Yet it must be mentioned, as matter of fact
There is more to a pound than a penny
And I assure you I have seen the wind
Not once, not twice, but many
Now let me state, on the record
Since I hate to disprove her claim
The wind is a wildly, curious thing
And most difficult to contain
Yet one day walking along a river
Something auspiciously came about
I saw the wind by accident
When it turned into a trout
It flipped into the air you see
In a breeze of all its might
Turning from an invisible wind
To a pescatarian delight
It swam the waves within the air
My eyes cemented wide
It carried on without a care
Dancing on an invisible tide
I watched and watched
As time stood still
In astonishment and glee
To see the wind incarnate
Was an immaculate decree
So you see, my eyes have seen the wind
In the form of a trouty gale
Until the enigma turned to wind again
Leaving this incredibly auspicious tale
